         AEI OPENS FOURTH CROSS BORDER OFFICE IN MCALLEN, TEXAS

DARIEN, CT, USA (December 15, 1998)-- AEI is pleased to announced the
establishment of an office in McAllen, Texas, as part of its "Southern
Border Strategy" to open brokerage operations at border-crossing sites at
the U.S./Mexico Border.  The facility is AEI's fourth border office to
provide brokerage at the US/Mexican border, as well as full-service air and
ocean forwarding. Existing sites are located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), CA;
Laredo, TX and El Paso, TX  with plans to add additional crossing points
in 1999.

"The McAllen facility is another step in our pursuit to be the major
provider of international logistics services at all significant crossing
points from he U.S. into Mexico," said Phillip A. Walsh, southwest regional
manager, AEI. "We have been very successful in obtaining business in McAllen
and it is clear that there is a definite need for our services in the
Southern Border."
