ALLIED RESEARCH NAMES THREE NEW DIRECTORS TO BOARD


VIENNA, Virginia - March 29, 2000 - Allied Research Corporation (AMEX: ALR), a
diversified defense and commercial electronic security firm, said today that at
its regular Board of Directors meeting the Board elected three new members.

Joining the Board are: Mr. Bruce W. Waddell, General Ronald Griffith, U.S. Army
(ret.), and General J.H. Binford Peay, III, U. S. Army (ret).

Glenn Yarborough, Chief Executive Officer of Allied Research, said he was
"thoroughly delighted with the new additions to the Board.  These three new
members bring solid backgrounds and top-level management expertise that will
bring immediate benefits to Allied Research.  I am absolutely pleased that they
have all agreed to join our Board and confidant that their presence and counsel
will be felt in a most positive way."

Mr. Waddell, 55, is President of the Stonebridge Group, Inc., a privately-held
management consulting firm, specializing in providing management counsel to
corporations in the area of strategic planning, business development and
business unit management.  He is a graduate of Cornell University and the
University of Toledo College of Law.

General Griffith, 61, retired from the U.S. Army in 1997 as Vice Chief of
Staff.  He is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of MPRI,
Inc, Alexandria, Virginia.  MPRI is a professional services company engaged
primarily in military related contracting in the U.S. and international defense
markets.  The company's business focus is on military matters, to include
training, equipping, force design and management, professional development,
concepts and doctrine, organizational and operational assistance, quick
reaction military contractual support, and democracy transition assistance
programs for military forces.  He is a 1960 graduate of the University of
Georgia, and holds a Master's Degree from Shippensburg State University.

General Peay, 59, was also Vice Chief of Staff, U.S. Army.  He retired in 1997
as Commander in Chief, United States Central Command.  He is a graduate of the
Virginia Military Institute and holds a Master of Arts degree from George
Washington University.  General Peay is a member of the Board of United Defense
L.P., and MPRI.  He is also a trustee of the George C. Marshall Foundation, the
V.M.I. Foundation and the National Defense University, and is a Senior Fellow
for National Security Affairs with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
