      Comptek Appoints Chris Boehm as President of Technical
                        Services Subsidiary

                                 
BUFFALO,  NY,  May 16, 2000, - Comptek Research, Inc.  (Amex:  CTK)
today  announced  the  immediate  appointment  of  Chris  Boehm  as
president  of  its  software  and  technical  services  subsidiary,
Comptek Federal Systems, Inc.

Comptek  Federal Systems (CFS), with annual sales of  approximately
$42  million,  or  about  30  percent  of  Comptek's  total  sales,
specializes  in  technical  services  for  electronic  warfare  and
military command and control applications. Boehm will work  out  of
the  company's  Arlington, VA, office and will be  responsible  for
accelerating growth at CFS, which during the past year  has  placed
greater  emphasis of providing software solutions  and  engineering
outsourcing to both commercial and military customers.

John J. Sciuto, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of
Comptek  Research,  Inc., said, "We welcome the addition  of  Chris
Boehm  to the Comptek team. Chris's proven track record in software
engineering,  management, and technology development  will  greatly
enhance Comptek's aggressive growth strategy."

Previously, Boehm served 15 years at Litton/PRC, Inc., McLean,  VA,
a  computer services corporation. His most recent position was vice
president  and general manager of the Migration Solutions  Business
Unit,  which provides software support to commercial, federal,  and
state  organizations. Boehm led the division  from  its  inception,
growing  it  to a staff of 290 people with a 20 percent  return  on
sales  in  a two-year period. Boehm was also executive manager  for
the National Intelligence Systems division from 1994-1997.

Boehm  earned  a master of science in business administration  from
Boston  University in 1986, and a bachelor of science  in  computer
science from the State University of New York in 1985.
