U.S. NAVY RENEWS CONTRACT WITH COMPTEK VALUED AT $11.4 MILLION

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 30, 2000- Comptek Research, Inc. (CTK) today
announced the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command has exercised a contract
option, valued at $11.4 million, calling for Comptek to provide a
range of engineering services over the next twelve months.
Comptek initially was awarded the contract in 1997 under the Navy's
Reliability, Maintainability and Quality Assessment (RM&Q) Program.
The initial award included a one-year base period and four option
years. The current award is the third of the four options. Comptek
recorded $9.4 million in sales on this program in its fiscal year
ended March 31, 2000.
John J. Sciuto, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of
Comptek Research, Inc. said, "Through this contract, Comptek continues
to provide valuable battle force systems engineering, combat systems
technology, and life cycle support evaluations and program management
support that improve the combat capabilities of the U.S. Navy."
Engineering services to be provided include evaluation and analysis of
the Navy's combat direction systems and related operations
requirements, functional characteristics, and logistics documentation.
Work on the contract will be performed primarily by the Arlington,
Virginia office of Comptek Federal Systems, Inc., Comptek's technical
services subsidiary.
