Competitive Tech: Acquires Stake in Micro-ASI, Inc.

For Immediate Release:

CTT Acquires Stake in Micro-ASI, Inc.
Company to Implement First "Non-Captive" High Volume
                         Flip-Chip Line in US

Fairfield, CT (April 26, 2000) Competitive Technologies, Inc. (Amex:CTT)
announced today that it has purchased $500,000 of Preferred Stock with
associated warrants of Micro-ASI, Inc. as part of an $8 million private
placement. The funds are intended to allow Micro-ASI
(http://www.micro-asi.com) to execute its business plan to provide
semiconductor packaging customers a "one-stop shop" for flip-chip
technology including design, prototype development, and volume
manufacturing of modules and boards. According to Micro-ASI, the
flip-chip and multi-chip technology will replace wire bonding technology
where faster, more reliable, easier to use, and less costly solutions are
required.

"Micro-ASI has commented that the shift to flip-chips and multi-chip
modules will facilitate the transition to next generation technology,
allowing the manufacturer to reduce the size of the final product," said
Frank R. McPike, President of Competitive Technologies. "We expect
Micro-ASI to lead the industry shift from wire bonded devices to direct
chip attachment," he continued.

Other parties to the private placement process were Frost Securities,
Inc., Eaglestone Investment Partners I, L.P., John Hancock Technology
Fund, and Signal Lake Venture Fund L.P..
