ANGIODYNAMICS RECEIVES FDA CLEARANCE TO MARKET STENTS 

Queensbury, NY, February 8, 1999.  AngioDynamics, Inc. a wholly owned
subsidiary of E-Z-EM, Inc. (Amex:  EZM.A and EZM.B) announced today it
has received FDA clearance to market its balloon expandable AngioStent
for the treatment of malignant strictures in the biliary tree.  This
clearance will allow AngioDynamics to immediately market the AngioStent
in the United States.

Eamonn Hobbs, AngioDynamics President and CEO said:   "The ability to
market the AngioStent in the United States is a major step forward as
this makes us one of a few number of companies cleared to sell stents in
the United States.   Our continued efforts to refine the manufacturing
processes and delivery system have materialized as a highly refined
product.   We also have the benefit of clinical experience outside the
United States that will make our in-service obligations to our customers
in the United States proceed smoothly."

Mr. Hobbs added:  "All aspects of this product are highly vertically
integrated.  We completely control the manufacturing of the stent and
the delivery system.   This control allows us to carefully optimize the
design of the stent and delivery catheter so they work together as a
system."
