The AngioDynamics FlowmeterÔ System measures flow rates in the bloodstream, providing physicians with the means to monitor the success of interventional vascular procedures such as hemodialysis catheter placement, stenting procedures, and peripheral balloon angioplasty. For the first time interventionalists will have detailed information concerning flow rates within the body and provides a much needed tool to assure procedural quality. Commenting on the agreement, Cornelius Drost, Founder and President of Transonic Systems said, "This relationship combines Transonic Systems’ strength in hemodynamic flow meters with AngioDynamics’ marketing expertise in interventional radiology. Flow has long been documented in the hemodialysis clinics using our system as an important predictor of graft failure. AngioDynamics can now help extend the application of flow measurement into the radiology suite." Commenting on the announcement, Eamonn P. Hobbs, President and CEO for AngioDynamics said, "The AngioDynamics FlowmeterÔ System is an innovative diagnostic tool that we believe will be essential to successful vascular access management in the future.
