JACOR NAMES SEAN COMPTON
NATIONAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
COVINGTON, KY April 28, 1998 – Jacor Communications today named Sean Compton Coordinator of National Programs. At 24, the boyishly handsome Compton is one of Jacor’s youngest superstars. In his most recent role, Compton worked for Senior Vice President of Programming Tom Owens in developing Jacor’s cross utilization of radio products. Says Owens," ;Sean has been very instrumental in coordinating company-wide product cross-utilization. Sean has led the development of Jacor’s Ohio/Kentucky Regional News Network and has directed the sharing of top rated Saturday morning programming across several Jac or markets. The focus of his new position will remain on this priority. In addition, Sean will continue in his invaluable capacity as a full service corporate programming resource."
CEO Randy Michaels added, "Sean’s been here sin ce puberty. I actually tried to fire him once but he wouldn’t leave. Now he’s an important part of the team. Besides, we figured a promotion might help him finally get a date." Added Owens, "Frankly, it was time to either promote him or adopt him. The choice was quite clear."
In his new role, Compton will continue to report to Tom Owens and will work directly with Jacor’s 200 radio stations in identifying and implementing shared programming opportunities.
