JACOR HIRES "MASTER OF TURNAROUNDS"
JAY MEYERS JOINS COMPANY AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
COVINGTON, KY May 11, 1998: Jacor Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: JCOR) announced today that Jay Meyers has joined the nation’s second largest radio group as Senior Vice President. Meyers becomes the newest member of the corporate team at Jacor and w ill have responsibilities over various broadcast areas. The Jacor agenda is not new to Meyers. As President and owner of Jay Meyers & Associates, a radio consulting firm, Jacor was Meyers’ biggest client until the firm brought him inside. Says Meyers, "I’ve been all over the country with Jacor. Over the last few years I’ve gotten to know the company well. Jacor’s got it all – great management, exceptional programming and, of course, Randy Michaels. What a guy. Every Sunday when I’m waxing his BMW he g ets me a cold one. Now that’s a man I can work for."
Meyers’ radio resume includes personal associations in over forty markets with more than one hundred radio stations. If it happens in radio, he’s done it – from Programming to General Manager to President of Sherman Broadcasting for three years. He’s b est known for his ability to turn a station around. Meyers is personally credited with turnarounds at Greater Media’s WCTC in New York, LIN Broadcasting’s WFIL in Philadelphia and WRRM/WEZO in Rochester
Says Michaels, "Jay’s an experienced radio professional. He’s been around, knows the players and has a strong track record. And that part about the BMW isn’t true. It’s a Ferrari."
