                   CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO NAMES BILL KELLY
                      YOUNGSTON, OHIO MARKET MANAGER

COVINGTON, KY June 17, 1999: Clear Channel (NYSE:CCU) Radio Division today
named Bill Kelly Market Manager for the company's eight station Youngstown
area cluster.  Kelly, a 17-year veteran of the Youngstown radio market, was
previously Vice President & General Manager of WBTJ-FM and WKBN-AM & FM.  
With his new responsibilities Kelly takes on Youngstown stations WKST-AM &
FM and WBZY-AM in Newcastle, PA and WNCD-FM and WNIO-AM in Niles, OH.  
According to Kelly, "I've been in Youngstown radio since 1981.  Over the
years I've gotten to know the market, the advertisers and the listeners.  
Radio just doesn't get any better than our stations in these markets.  I'm
looking forward to helping with their continued success."   Clear Channel
Radio Division Senior Vice President Dave Crowl added, "Clear Channel's
outlook for Youngstown is very bright.  We have a great operating team in
the market and Bill's skills and experience will galvanize our total
efforts in the market."  Crowl also announced that Dominic Baragona would
continue as General Manager of Niles stations WNCD and WNIO.

Kelly, who came up through the radio sales ranks, is highly active in the
Youngstown community and sits on the boards of the Catholic Television
Network and the Youngstown Better Business Bureau.  His promotion is
effective immediately
