FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JACOR SANTA BARBARA NAMES

JIM VOTAW MARKET MANAGER

COVINGTON, KY June 30, 1998: Jacor’s (Nasdaq: JCOR) Jim Votaw will be kicking up sand in the company’s Santa Barbara market soon. Votaw, a veteran radio sales and marketing professional, today was named Market Manager of the company’s Santa Barbara cluster. He had been Director of AM Sales in San Diego for Jacor and, previously, general sales manager at 91X-FM in San Diego and had been a general manager in Fresno and Riverside, California.

Jim Votaw’s qualifications for Santa Barbara Market Manager extend far beyond his stellar performance in the sales arena. Through his years on the West Coast Votaw has perfected a "surfer dude" persona and one of the best honed tans in the region. All that coupled with his gig in a rock and roll band made the promotion of Votaw to Market Manager an easy decision for Jacor Senior Vice President Jay Meyers. Says Meyers, "The only other person with Jim’s unique set of qualifications was David Lee Roth. And Jim’s a better singer! I was concerned about convincing Jim to leave San Diego but when I told him that our facility was just a mile from the beach he said, ‘Dude, I'm there.’ With that kind of commitment I knew Jim was our guy."
