(Nasdaq: JCOR) today reorganized key broadcast areas following the purchase of Nationwide Communications Inc. Tom Schurr, Vice President and Market Manager for Jacor's Louisville division since 1997 is moving to Houston. As Houston VP and Market Manager Schurr will be responsible for the development of KHMX-FM and KTBZ-FM (The Buzz). Before moving to Louisville Schurr was in Sacramento with Citicasters, purchased by Jacor in early 1996. J.D. Freeman, former General Manager of Nationwide's KDMX-FM in Dallas will become Dallas Vice President and Market Manager. In addition to KDMX Freeman will oversee KEGL-FM, the former Nationwide rock station in Dallas. Former Nationwide General Manager Dave Pugh of KZZP-FM in Phoenix will become Vice President and Phoenix Market Manager. Jacor now owns KZZP and KGLQ in the Phoenix broadcast area. Jacor St. Louis General Manager Lee Clear (KATZ -AM/FM, KMJM-FM, KSLZ-FM) will add oversight duties for new acquisitions KSD-FM and KLOU-FM as Vice President and Market Manager of the St. Louis broadcast area. A General Manager for the two stations will be named shortly. In Baltimore, three year WPOC-FM General Manager Jim Dolan will add former CBS properties WCAO-AM and WOCT-FM to his station management duties. Neither station has a GM at the current time. Jim Meltzer, Vice President and General Manager of Jacor's Cleveland broadcast area will become Vice President and Market Manager as Jacor's Cleveland presence expands. In addition to WTAM-AM and WMVX-FM Meltzer will oversee new stations WGAR-FM, WMMS-FM and WMJI-FM, former Nationwide properties. John Blassingame currently General Manager of WGAR-FM will now become Vice President and General Manager of WMJI-FM as well as WGAR-FM. Meltzer will assume day to day responsibilities for WMMS-FM.
