(Nasdaq: JCOR) today promoted Tom Sly to Vice President and Market Manager of the Salt Lake City broadcast area. Sly had been Vice President and General Manager of KZHT-FM/KKAT-FM/KURR-FM and now adds KODJ-FM/KNRS-AM/KALL-AM to his responsibilities. Jay Meyers, Jacor Senior Vice President commented, "This promotion recognizes the outstanding job Tom has done for Jacor in Salt Lake City. For the longest time he impressed me as a man who could seemingly be in two places at one time...then Randy Michaels told me that his twin brother Clint was the guy running our AM's in Portland." Lee Douglas joins Jacor Salt Lake City as Station Manager. Douglas comes from a lengthy successful programming career including WCKG in Chicago, KYCY in San Francisco, and WOFX-FM in Cincinnati. In his new position, Douglas will oversee the programming, operations, marketing and promotion of all six Salt Lake properties, reporting to newly appointed Market Manager Tom Sly. In commenting on Douglas' promotion Sly said, "I'm excited to have someone of Lee's caliber join our operation. He can provide us the vision to grow Jacor Salt Lake City into the dominant player in this market. But most important, his addition provides me the time to pursue my ultimate goal, to continue to train to become the anchor on the Jamaica Bobsled Team at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake." In another executive move in Salt Lake City, Jacor promoted Mary Lee Robinson to Director of Sales for Jacor's four FM's in Salt Lake. She had been General Sales Manager of KZHT-FM/KURR-FM since joining the company in 1997. All promotions are effective immediately. Ends.
