FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO DIVISION
ANNOUNCES NEW ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
Covington, Kentucky, September 19, 2000 Clear Channel Radio CEO Randy Michaels and President
and COO Kenny O'Keefe are taking the first of many planned steps in merging the operations of
Clear Channel and AMFM radio. In an announcement today, Michaels and O'Keefe named Jeff
Littlejohn Vice President, Engineering Services, Steve Davis Vice President, Capital Management
and Al Kenyon Vice President, Projects & Technology. The three engineering VPs will report
directly to Michaels.
Jeff Littlejohn, previously AMFM Vice President, Engineering, will oversee engineering support services throughout Clear Channel's radio division. During his AMFM career Littlejohn was credited with developing and cultivating one of the industry's deepest pools of engineering talent and organizing the group into strong regional engineering management teams. He will continue to develop the engineering staff in his new role at Clear Channel.
Steve Davis previously served as Vice President, Engineering for Clear Channel's Radio Division. For over fifteen years, Davis played a key role in managing the division's capital budget and expense tracking, maximizing Clear Channel's return on capital investment. Davis will also continue to oversee technical filings submitted to the Federal Communications Commission and other regulatory bodies.
Al Kenyon will continue to develop his role as Clear Channel Radio's Vice President, Technology. Kenyon is spearheading Clear Channel's efforts to remain at the forefront of radio's technological revolution through his participation in multiple industry groups. Al will continue to be responsible for evaluating the technical facilities of proposed new station purchases, and will take on the role of managing radio studio build-outs and consolidation projects.
In making today's announcement Michaels commented, "With this team we have created a triumvirate of the most highly skilled radio engineering managers in the industry." Michaels further noted that "the division of labor was largely the result of the three engineering managers reaching a consensus as to their strengths and interests, and succeeds in emphasizing the areas of expertise each of the three brings to the table. Besides, I'm hoping Kenyon won't have as much time to go to all those industry conferences. His travel expenses are almost as high as mine." Said Al Kenyon, "If someone decides that any part of this division of responsibilities and capital management plan is illegal, all three of us are going to jail, 'cause our fingerprints are all over every piece!"
The new radio division engineering management structure is effective immediately.
