Clear Channel: Personnel Announcements Contact: Pam Taylor (606) 655.6523 Gene Romano (404) 325-0960 Jack Taddeo (847) 518-0340 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO NAMES GENE ROMANO AND JACK TADDEO REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENTS, PROGRAMMING COVINGTON, KY November 16, 1999: Clear Channel Communications (NYSE: CCU) Senior Vice President of Programming Tom Owens today announced the promotion of Gene Romano and CCU newcomer Jack Taddeo to Regional Vice Presidents of Programming. Gene Romano, stepping into the position from Clear Channel's Director of Rock Programming, will oversee 103 radio stations across 20 markets concentrated in the South and Southwestern Regions of the country. Said Romano of his promotion, "This is a great time to be in programming at Clear Channel. Tom Owens and (Clear Channel Radio President) Randy Michaels are programming visionaries. They created the blueprint that leverages "big-company" advantages in production, content and programming quality with local execution. Clear Channel Radio is loaded with programming talent at every level. My role will be to help the local program directors take full advantage of everything Clear Channel Radio has to offer. " Jack Taddeo joins Clear Channel Radio from Capstar where he was Senior Vice President, Programming. Over the last 24-years Taddeo has owned, consulted or worked for stations in every size market, ranging from Chicago and Philadelphia to Sheboygan. Commented Taddeo, "Frankly, I've competed against Randy and Tom for a long time. Working with them is going to be a lot more fun than working against them. They've assembled a powerhouse of radio programmers here at Clear Channel and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. Anyway, I wanted to get here before the AMFM folks so I could get my pick of offices." Taddeo will coordinate Clear Channel Radio programming across 76 stations in 20 markets focused in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the country in addition to select Adult Contemporary products nationally. In making the appointments Owens commented, "Gene Romano has done an outstanding job enhancing the performance of Clear Channel's Rock-related products and I know he will similarly contribute across traditional format boundaries. Jack Taddeo not only brings an impressive Adult Contemporary expertise to the position, but his high-volume management skills are well developed, having served as Senior Vice President, Programming, first for SFX and then Capstar. As a result, Jack has significant insights into the operations of Capstar and AMFM, which will prove contributive in the months ahead. Further, as Capstar was the parent company of Prophet, Jack has a unique perspective on the applications of our Company's primary digital product platform." Clear Channel Communications, Inc.
