                JANA LEINDECKER TO VP OF NEW BUSINESS 
                      DEVELOPMENT-MIDWEST REGION      

COVINGTON, KY December 21, 1998:  Jacor Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: JCOR)
today promoted Jana Leindecker to the corporate position of Vice President, New
Business Development-Midwest Region.  Leindecker, formerly Director of Events &
Vendor Marketing for the Columbus, Ohio region will now be overseeing the 
Non-Traditional Revenue (NTR) Programs in the midwestern markets and will
report to corporate Vice President of Marketing, Nick Miller.  Leindecker will
continue to be based out of Columbus.

Leindecker brings more than 10 years of NTR experience to her new position. 
Her impressive portfolio includes setting up Non-Traditional Revenue
departments in Jacor markets such as Denver, Portland, Tampa and Atlanta. Says
Leindecker, "Just as our industry learned how to redefine revenue opportunities
with the birth of FM, we are now re-writing the rulebook for revenue for the
21st century." She adds, "It's thrilling to be on board with a company that is
really committed to this new direction on a national basis."

Nick Miller noted, "For many years Jana has worked with our corporate staff on
a number of group wide vendor and non-traditional revenue projects. 
Simultaneously she has managed to exceed every NTR cash flow target that she
has been given in the Columbus and Cincinnati markets." Miller adds, "Jana will
now have the time to devote to training and working with all of the NTR
specialists in our markets, especially focusing upon the Midwest region where
we have the largest concentration of stations."

represents 240 radio stations in 62 broadcast areas along with WKRC-TV in

"Dreamland" and "Coast to Coast."  Jacor also owns NSN Network Services, a
satellite systems integration company that provides design, communications
technology and support to establish and maintain global satellite connectivity
to companies worldwide.  Jacor plans to pursue growth through continued
acquisitions of complementary radio stations in existing broadcast locations,
and radio groups or individual stations with significant presence in other
attractive domestic and international locations.  Additionally, Jacor plans to
grow in other broadcast related products and businesses.

On October 8, 1998 Jacor and Clear Channel Communications, Inc. (NYSE: CCU)
announced the signing of a definitive merger agreement for a tax-free,
stock-for-stock transaction.  The transaction is pending.
