              JACOR PROMOTES STEVE WINKEY TO MARKET MANAGER
                        CEDAR RAPIDS/IOWA CITY

COVINGTON, KY, December 22, 1997:  Jacor Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: JCOR)
today promoted Steve Winkey to Market Manager, Cedar Rapids and  Iowa City.  In
the newly created position Winkey will head up Jacor's four station eastern
Iowa cluster.  The former general manager of Jacor's KXIC and KKRQ in Iowa City
adds WMT AM and FM in Cedar Rapids to his responsibilities with the promotion.

Winkey will report to Jacor Senior Vice President, John Hogan.  Said Hogan,
"This is a great opportunity for Steve and a big plus for Jacor's Iowa
operations.  Steve has done a tremendous job managing our Iowa City properties
and is ready to expand that expertise to the region.  While Iowa City and Cedar
Rapids are distinctly separate broadcast areas there are a number of
opportunities to improve their combined performance.  Steve's just the person
to get that done."

Said Winkey, "I can't wait to get started and kick some ass.  Besides, duck
hunting season is over."

stations with significant presence in other attractive locations.

businesses.
