                 DIVISION OF MARSH SUPERMARKETS OPENS 
                    CONNERSVILLE CONVENIENCE STORE 

CONNERSVILLE, IN- Village Pantry, a subsidiary of Marsh Supermarkets, Inc., 
will open a new convenience store located at 513 West Third Street on 
Thursday, April 20, 2000. This new location will be a 24-hour store open 
seven days a week.

"We look forward to servicing the Connersville community by adding a new 
Village Pantry location," said Don E. Marsh, Chairman and CEO of Marsh 
Supermarkets, Inc.

In addition to the standard quality merchandise and fast, friendly service, 
this store features hot foods, home meal replacement, deli and bakery 
services, a car wash, and Marathon gasoline with pay-at-the-pump capability. 

One of the largest regional grocery chains in the United States, Marsh 
Supermarkets operates 70 Marsh Supermarkets, 23 LoBill Foods stores,
1 Savin*$, and 181 Village Pantry convenience stores in central Indiana and 
western Ohio. The company also operates Convenience Store Distributing
