     DIVISION OF MARSH SUPERMARKETS TO OPEN NEW LOBILL FOODS STORE

LEBANON - On Friday, June 23, 2000, the LoBill Foods division of Marsh 
Supermarkets will open a new 31,500 square foot store located at 
2250 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana.  This will be the first 
LoBill Foods store in Lebanon. 

Opening Ceremonies and dedication will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be 
hosted by Don E. Marsh, Chairman and CEO of Marsh Supermarkets, Inc.

"We are pleased to introduce our LoBill Foods store to the Lebanon 
community," said Mr. Don E. Marsh, "LoBill provides a unique grocery 
shopping experience with an emphasis on fresh selection, value and 
quality."

The new store will operate 7:00 a.m. through midnight, seven days a week.  
Lottery, Western Union and money orders will be available in store. 

Marsh Supermarkets , one of the largest regional grocery chains in the 
United States, operates 70 Marsh Supermarkets, 30 LoBill Food Stores, 
1 Savin*$ and 181 Village Pantry convenience stores in central Indiana 
and western Ohio.  The Company also operates Convenience Store Distributing

1,300 stores in a nine-state area, and Crystal Food Services, which provides 
upscale catering, cafeteria management, office coffee vending and concessions,
